How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are a small, well-established wrought iron business specialising in bespoke gates, railings, handrails, and balustrades. Nearly all of our work is made for private clients, and all of our work is made to very high standards.
    We are looking for an experienced Welder Fabricator who takes pride in their work and can fabricate independently from drawings and sketches.
    Working to a high standard is paramount. Welding and grinding need to be neat, and every job produced needs to be made with a high level of care and attention, no matter how big or small.
    The Role
    You will be fabricating bespoke, made-to-order, wrought iron items including:
    * Large driveway gates
    * Pedestrian gates
    * Handrails
    * Balustrades
    * Railings
    * Composite gates
    * Decorative ironwork
    Work is varied and detail-driven, so accuracy and consistency are essential.
    Skills & Experience Required
    You must be able to demonstrate:
    * MIG/MAG welding experience
    * Confident use of grinders, drills, saws, and hand tools
    * Ability to read drawings and work to measurements
    * Experience in fabricating frames and assemblies
    * Working to small tolerances - 1mm
    * A good eye for detail
    * Ability to work independently without constant supervision
    Previous experience in bespoke metalwork or architectural steel is highly desirable.
    This is NOT an entry-level position.
    What We Are Looking For
    * Someone reliable and punctual
    * Someone who takes responsibility for the quality of their work
    * Someone who cares about getting things right the first time
    * A practical problem solver
    * A team player in a small workshop environment
    What We offer
    * Friendly, relaxed workshop environment
    * Regular, consistent work
    * On-site parking
    * Tea and coffee provided
    * Opportunity for long-term employment for the right person
    All candidates will be required to complete a practical welding and fabrication test at the interview.
    If you are a skilled and experienced fabricator looking for steady work in a small, quality-focused workshop, we'd like to hear from you
