How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Residential Conveyancing Associate / Senior Associate

Newcastle upon Tyne (Hybrid Working 2-3 days after initial probation)Competitive salary based on experience

We’re working in partnership with a highly regarded and fast-growing law firm that is investing heavily in its Residential Conveyancing offering in Newcastle. As part of this expansion, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate or Senior Associate to step into a pivotal role within a high-performing, commercially driven team.

This is not just another conveyancing role — it’s a chance to take ownership, influence direction, and play a key part in scaling a successful and ambitious department.

    The Opportunity

You’ll take the lead on a varied and high-volume caseload of residential property transactions, primarily acting on behalf of institutional and lender clients. From instruction through to completion, you’ll be trusted to run matters efficiently while maintaining exceptional client service standards.

Alongside fee-earning, you’ll have genuine scope to contribute to the growth of the team — mentoring junior lawyers, improving processes, and helping shape the future structure of the department.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Managing end-to-end residential conveyancing transactions

Acting for financial institutions on property sales

Drafting contracts, title reports, auction packs, completion statements and transfer documentation

Liaising with clients, asset managers, third parties and customers to drive transactions forward

Ensuring compliance with SLAs and internal procedures

Supporting and mentoring junior fee earners

Contributing to team performance, development and operational improvements

    What We’re Looking For

Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales), 5+ PQE

Strong track record in residential conveyancing

Confident handling a high-volume caseload with precision and pace

Commercially astute with a client-first mindset

Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Comfortable using case management systems and working in a structured environment

A team player with the drive to step into a leadership capacity

    Why This Role?

    Hybrid working

    – genuine flexibility to balance office and home working

    Clear progression

    – a visible pathway to further leadership

    High-growth team

    – be part of something being built, not maintained

    Commercial exposure

    – work closely with institutional clients in a fast-paced environment

    Supportive culture

    – collaborative, forward-thinking and development-focused
