How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Saica Group is a global, purpose-driven organisation specialising in sustainable paper solutions for corrugated board and packaging, with a strong focus on circularity in waste management.
With over 10,000 colleagues across 11 countries and more than 80 years of experience, we are committed to innovation, responsibility and long-term impact.
At Saica Pack, we design and manufacture end-to-end packaging solutions from retail-ready presentation to robust protective packaging supporting customers across a wide range of industries.
We are recruiting an experienced Machine Operator to join our Conversion team at our Thrapston site. This role will suit someone with a hands-on approach, a strong focus on quality and safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience operating rotary die-cut and case maker machines is desirable; however, full training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, reliability and commitment.
As our Machine Operator you will be responsible for:
    * Operating and monitoring packaging machinery to produce high quality corrugated packaging products
    * Ensuring output meets quality, safety and customer requirements
    * Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production targets
    * Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
    * Following site procedures and health & safety standards at all times
    What We’re Looking For
    * Hands on and operationally capable
    * Machine operator experience (3 – 5 years) – ideally rotary die cut and case maker machines
    * Customer focused with an eye for quality
    * Strong communication skills and a team oriented approach
    * Safety conscious, dependable and reliable
    * A positive attitude and willingness to learn
    * Good understanding of continuous improvement techniques, e.g. lean & 5S
    * Ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and follow specifications
    Why Join Saica Pack
As a member of the Saica Pack team, you’ll benefit from:
    * A supportive working environment where ideas are welcomed
    * Strong team culture – collaboration is central to how we work
    * Full training for any skills or machinery that are new to you
    * Career development opportunities within a growing organisation
You’re likely to thrive at Saica if you:
    * Enjoy working as part of a team and supporting others
    * Value openness and clear communication
    * Take pride in high standards and quality output
    * Are self-motivated and keen to develop your skills
Confidence can sometimes hold people back from applying. We don’t believe in a “perfect” candidate.
Saica is a place where people grow, learn and progress so if this role appeals to you, we encourage you to apply.
