How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The pupil is an EAL learner and it has been established that they have not previously accessed formal education. We are therefore looking for a patient and adaptable tutor who can speak Arabic and support the pupil in building confidence, communication, routine and foundational learning skills.

This role would suit an experienced Tutor, Teacher, HLTA, LSA, SEN Tutor or support practitioner who is confident working independently in a home environment and able to deliver learning in a nurturing, creative and highly personalised way.

Due to the nature and complexity of each referral, we are unable to go into specific details on every individual case at this stage.

Local Authorities are looking for tutors to start immediately. This is a long-term position, Monday to Friday.

TeacherActive are looking for an Arabic-Speaking SEN / EAL Tutor in Woolwich with the following:

Arabic language skills to support communication, understanding and engagement
Experience supporting pupils with EAL, SEND, SEMH, ASD or additional learning needs
Confidence delivering 1:1 tuition in the home or other community-based settings
Ability to support a pupil who is at the early stages of education and requires help with the basics
Strong understanding of how to differentiate learning in a creative, bespoke and accessible way
Good general education levels in English and Maths
A calm, patient and practical approach to supporting pupils with learning barriers
Ability to build trusting relationships with children, young people and families
Confidence working independently and adapting sessions to the pupil’s needs
Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a caring and professional attitude
Flexibility in terms of working patterns
An undergraduate degree and/or prior experience working alongside pupils with SEND or EAL learners would be beneficial
An enhanced DBS on the update service
In return for the above, you can expect to receive:

A dedicated team of consultants available 24/7 to help you with the easy onboarding process
CPD courses and certificates as part of the My-Progression channel
    Market-leading rates of pay
TeacherActive Referral Scheme – receive up to £100 when you refer a friend Terms and Conditions apply
Our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you are paying the right level of Tax and National Insurance, with no admin charges coming out of your hard-earned cash.
