How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Poolhall Recruitment is working with an established but growing, design-led residential developer to appoint an experienced Architect. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team delivering a strong pipeline of residential-led schemes across the West Midlands and beyond.

    You’ll play a key role across all project stages, contributing to both design and technical delivery within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

    Role & Responsibilities

    * Lead and contribute across all RIBA work stages

    * Develop design proposals from concept through to construction

    * Produce and manage detailed drawing packages using Revit

    * Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams

    * Prepare and oversee planning applications and technical submissions

    * Attend client meetings, design reviews, and site visits

    * Ensure design quality, compliance, and technical accuracy

    * Support delivery against project programmes and deadlines

    Requirements

    * Qualified Architect (ARB registered or equivalent)

    * Strong experience within a UK architectural practice

    * Proven track record in residential developments (mixed-use advantageous)

    * Strong design and technical capability with attention to detail

    * Good knowledge of UK planning policy and Building Regulations

    * Proficient in Revit

    * Effective communicator with a collaborative approach

    * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

    * Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or SketchUp beneficial

    Location & Working Pattern

    * Based in the West Midlands, with regular attendance at the Birmingham office required

    * Some flexibility for hybrid working, depending on project needs
