How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Headteacher for our Great Howarth School in the Rochdale area (OL12)

    Great Howarth School is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls. Based in Rochdale, the school meets the diverse needs of pupils aged 7-18 with a range of complex needs including: Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), ADHD and Autism.

    We provide a holistic, bespoke curriculum with rich learning opportunities that enable young people to develop their functional life skills in order to experience a high quality of life.

    As a Deputy Headteacher you will aim to achieve the highest possible standards and outcomes for the pupils. You will be a trusted member of the senior management team. Responsible for the implementation of effective policies and procedures that support the high standards of educational. You will work to assist the Head teacher in the day to day running of the school.

    Minimum requirements:

    QTS or QTLS Qualification
    Have similar SLT experience in an SEN environment
    Up to date OFSTED and knowledge of the SEN education sector and desired outcomes.
    Have up to date safeguarding andchild protection qualifications/knowledge and experience.The ideal candidate should:

    - Strategically oversee the school’s resources tosupport the achievement of educational objectives and priorities effectively and efficiently.

    -Collaborate with the headteacher to clearly articulate, disseminate, ensure understanding of, and effectively implement the school’s vision among all stakeholders.

    - Prioritise pupil achievement, safety, and well-being as the core focus of all school activities.

    - Foster a culture ofchallenge and support to empower every student to succeed and actively engage in their learning journey.

    - Articulate and uphold high expectations by settingambitious targets for the entire school community.

    - Exemplify the school’s values consistently through daily work and actions.
