How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Multi Skilled Engineer

    Location - Boston, Lincolnshire

    Salary - £54,000

    Shift Pattern - 4 on 4 off, Days and Nights

    Henderson Brown is delighted to be partnering with a FMCG manufacturer who are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Boston. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment, playing a key role in ensuring the continued efficiency and reliability of production operations.

    Responsibilities

    Respond to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and complete repairs on production machinery, utilities, and packing systems to reduce downtime.
    Deliver planned maintenance activities, system upgrades, installations, and mechanical/electrical modifications across diverse plant and facility equipment.
    Record all maintenance work accurately within CMMS systems, ensuring full compliance with safety, hygiene, and food production standards.
    Contribute to engineering projects, equipment improvements, commissioning activities, and technical upgrades to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
    Work closely with production teams, engineers, suppliers, and contractors while supporting effective shift handovers and continuous 24/7 site operations.
    Promote ongoing improvement initiatives, share knowledge, undertake training, and maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and equipment performance.Requirements

    Recognised engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or HNC in mechanical or electrical engineering discipline.
    Experience in a similar role, such as (maintenance technician, mechanical maintenance engineer, engineering technician, electrical maintenance engineer or shift technician)
    Strong analytical fault-finding ability with a structured, logical approach to diagnosing issues and implementing reliable long-term solutions.
    Comfortable working under pressure in demanding environments while prioritising tasks effectively and consistently delivering high-quality results.
