How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a hands-on role where you will lead by example, ensuring children and young people feel safe, supported, and encouraged to thrive.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Deliver high-quality care in line with Ofsted standards and individual care plans

    * Act as a role model and provide guidance to Support Workers on shift

    * Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people

    * Encourage independence, resilience, and personal development

    * Manage challenging behaviour using a calm and therapeutic approach

    * Contribute to care planning and risk assessments

    * Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

    * Liaise effectively with families, social workers, and external professionals

    * Help create a safe, stable, and structured home environment

    About You

    * Genuine passion for supporting children and young people

    * Calm, resilient, and confident in managing challenging situations

    * Strong leadership and communication skills

    * Minimum 3 years’ experience in residential childcare

    * Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

    * Full UK driving licence (essential)

    What’s on Offer

    * Competitive hourly rate of £14.75 to £15.00 (based on experience)

    * Structured induction and ongoing training

    * Support to gain further recognised qualifications

    * Clear progression opportunities into leadership roles

    * Supportive and collaborative team environment

    How to Apply

If you are ready to take the next step in your career and make a real difference in young people’s lives, we would love to hear from you.
