How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Junior / Intermediate Mechanical Engineers

    Annual Salary: Competitive (based on experience)
    Location: Winchester area
    Job Type: Full-timeJoin a growing building services consultancy as a Junior / Intermediate Mechanical Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging, high-rise residential and mixed-use projects. You will gain exposure to all design stages and collaborate with multi-discipline teams, making it a fantastic chance to develop your skills and contribute to projects from concept through to completion.

    Day-to-day of the role:

    Design mechanical and public health services for high-rise residential and mixed-use developments.
    Prepare detailed layouts, schematics, calculations, and specifications.
    Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other consultants.
    Produce deliverables for planning, tender, and construction stages.
    Participate in design meetings and respond to site queries.
    Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
    Support senior engineers and contribute to project delivery from concept to completion.Required Skills & Qualifications:

    Junior to intermediate experience in mechanical and/or public health building services.
    Strong technical ability, attention to detail, and coordination skills.
    Effective communication and team-working skills.
    Proactive, motivated, and eager to learn and develop professionally.
