How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Manufacturing Engineer – Electrical / Electronics

This role sits within an established aerospace manufacturing operation producing complex, safety‑critical control products. You will be part of a manufacturing engineering team of around 11 people, covering a broad mix of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and process experience.

The role is hands‑on and production‑focused. Around 50% of your time will be spent on electrical and electronic engineering activities, including the design and build of test jigs, fixtures, and test equipment, along with investigating and fault‑finding complex electrical issues. You will work with wiring, schematics, and PCB designs as part of day‑to‑day problem solving.

The remaining part of the role is centred on core manufacturing engineering. This includes supporting existing production lines, improving processes, addressing build and quality issues, and ensuring products move into production smoothly and reliably.

There is a strong pipeline of new product introduction work, and you will be involved early, working with design engineers to ensure products are practical to build and test in a factory environment. When technical problems arise, you will be expected to assess the issue, identify root causes, and put effective solutions in place.

The position is primarily site‑based due to the nature of the work, though there is some flexibility to work remotely when tasks allow. The team is open to considering candidates from different backgrounds and experience levels, including those retraining or moving across disciplines, provided they have a solid technical foundation and the ability to develop further.

The role offers exposure to technically challenging products, responsibility for meaningful engineering work, and the opportunity to build depth across both electrical and manufacturing engineering.

    Key Skills & Experience

Manufacturing engineering experience in an electro‑mechanical environment
    Electrical or electronic engineering background
Electrical fault‑finding and structured problem solving
Ability to read and work from wiring diagrams and PCB designs
Experience designing or supporting test equipment, jigs, or fixtures
Involvement in NPI and production support activities
Clear communication skills and ability to work with engineering and production teams
Willingness to learn and develop within a regulated manufacturing environment
    Salary description

    £35000.00 - £55000.00 per year
