How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Waking Night Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home
    Location: Tiptree, Essex
Salary: £30,888 per annum (inclusive of allowances)
    Hours: 4 on, 4 off - 9:00pm – 8:00am

Are you a calm, caring, and dependable professional who finds purpose in helping others? We’re looking for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our dedicated team at a children’s residential home in Tiptree, Essex.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in providing safety, comfort, and reassurance to children and young people aged 8–17 throughout the night — supporting their emotional wellbeing and ensuring a secure, nurturing environment.

    About the Role:

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll be responsible for:

    *

Monitoring and supporting young people during night hours, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

    *

Providing a calm, caring presence and responding appropriately to any incidents or emotional needs.

    *

Maintaining accurate logs, reports, and safeguarding documentation.

    *

Carrying out light household duties and preparing the home for the following day.

    *

Working closely with day staff to ensure consistent and high-quality care.

    What We’re Looking For:

    *

Previous experience working with children or young people (residential experience desirable)

    *

Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

    *

    Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

    *

    Full UK driving licence essential.

    What We Offer:

    *

Competitive salary of £29,972 per year.

    *

Stable and consistent rota pattern for good work-life balance.

    *

    Comprehensive induction and ongoing training.

    *

    Supportive, collaborative team culture.

    *

Clear progression opportunities within the organisation.

    *

Access to wellbeing support and staff perks.

If you’re ready to make a meaningful difference through compassionate night-time care, we’d love to hear from you.
