How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Overview for a Team Leader
    We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Childcare Team Leader to join our team. This role involves providing essential care and support to children, helping them achieve their developmental goals within a nurturing environment.
    The Team Leader will work as a member of the team in the provision of crisis care and support services for children and young people who may display challenging behaviours.
    Due to regulations applicants must be older than the children they are looking after so applicants will need to be aged 21 years or more.
    Skills/Abilities for a Team Leader
    Essential:
    * Proven ability to work on own initiative
    * Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to people with challenging & emotional behaviours and learning difficulties
    * Committed to a providing person centred approaches
    * Hold a level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care)
    * At least 3 years experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable
    * Full UK driving licence with clean driving record is preferred
    * Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with children, families, and team members
    * Knowledge of child development principles and care plans
    * Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes
    * Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting children's growth and development
    * Ability to make decisions and problem solve

    * Ability to work flexibly according to organisational needs and schedules which includes sleep in duties - be available for cover as and when require
