Day Shift Setter / Technician
Location: Mitcham
Salary: Up to £38,000 - £44,000 considered for the right candidates
Shift: Permanent Day Shift | 4 on / 4 off | 42 hours
The Opportunity
5S Recruitment is working with a global manufacturing group specialising in precision technologies and advanced materials, to recruit a Day Shift Setter / Technician. This is a structured, quality-driven environment where standards are high and processes are controlled, making it well suited to someone who understands disciplined manufacturing and takes pride in getting it right first time. You’ll be working with modern electric injection moulding machines and automation, in a business that values safety, consistency and continuous improvement.
The Role
* You’ll be responsible for setting and supporting injection moulding processes within a defined manufacturing cell, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
* Safely mounting and setting injection mould tools within moulding machines.
* Starting and maintaining stable processes to ensure components meet specification.
* Supervising and supporting operators within the manufacturing cell.
* Working in line with established standard operating procedures and quality systems.
* Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
* Supporting production within cleanroom environments where required.
* Working with inline automation and robotic systems to maintain efficient output.
* Contributing to continuous improvement activity across the shop floor.
About You
* NVQ Level 2 in Plastic Injection Moulding or equivalent experience.
* Proven background within injection moulding in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience working with automated production and robotics systems.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and structured ways of working.
* Experience with machines such as Krauss Maffei, Demag, Engel or Fanuc would be advantageous.
* Familiarity with Wittmann, ATM or Fanuc robotics is desirable.
* Comfortable working in a hands-on role with responsibility for both machines and people.

* Salaries considered between £38,000 & £44,000 depending on experience.
* Permanent day shift pattern working 4 on / 4 off.
