How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Support Worker

    LOCATION:               Plymouth
    HOURS:                     37 hours (Mon–Fri with some weekends)
    Salary:                       £15.34 PAYE + Holiday
    DURATION:              Temporary (Approx. 3 months, ASAP – End of August)
    START DATE:           ASAP
      
    About the Role
    We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Complex Needs Service in Plymouth, supporting adults and families.

    This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll empower individuals to develop independence, improve wellbeing, and work towards positive life outcomes. You’ll support people with tenancy management, understanding benefits, budgeting, and building essential life skills, while promoting social inclusion and recovery.
    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with complex needs
    Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, colleagues, and partner agencies
    Develop and review outcome-focused support plans
    Promote independence, choice, and social inclusion
    Complete risk assessments and manage risk appropriately
    Maintain accurate records and contribute to service outcomes
    Work within professional boundaries, ensuring safeguarding and confidentiality About You
    Essential Skills & Experience:

    Experience supporting individuals with diverse and complex needs
    Ability to build professional relationships and maintain boundaries
    Experience contributing to support plans and maintaining records
    Strong decision-making skills and accountability
    Ability to work independently (including lone working) and as part of a team
    Flexible approach to working hours
    Understanding of equality, diversity, and safeguarding
    Good literacy and numeracy skills Desirable:

    Knowledge of housing-related support
    Understanding of employment, training, or social inclusion pathways
    Experience working in housing or support settings
    NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field Additional Information

    Enhanced DBS check required
