How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Westminster, London
    £100 – £115 per day
    Start Date: May 2026
    Full Time | Temporary | Long-Term
Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

Teach Now is recruiting a resilient and compassionate Learning Support Practitioner to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Westminster, supporting primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a highly rewarding role where no two days are the same. Youll play a vital part in helping pupils re-engage with education, build trust, and develop the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

    About the Role

Working within a supportive and experienced team, you will provide tailored support to pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural guidance. The role combines academic support with strong pastoral care, helping children regulate emotions, build confidence, and re-integrate into structured learning.

You will work closely with teachers, behaviour specialists, and the SENCo to deliver personalised support strategies that meet each childs needs.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
    • Support pupils in managing behaviour, emotions, and social interactions
    • Assist in delivering adapted learning activities across the curriculum
    • Build positive, consistent relationships to encourage engagement and trust
    • Implement behaviour support strategies and follow individual plans
    • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
    • Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

    About You

We are looking for someone who is:

    • Experienced working with children with SEMH, behavioural needs, or in alternative provisions/PRUs
    • Calm, resilient, and able to de-escalate challenging situations
    • Passionate about supporting vulnerable pupils and making a real difference
    • A strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Patient, consistent, and able to maintain professional boundaries
    • Adaptable and proactive, with a positive and solution-focused mindset

    About the School

This Westminster-based PRU provides specialist support for primary-aged pupils who require an alternative approach to education. The setting offers small class sizes, a strong pastoral focus, and a collaborative team dedicated to helping pupils overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.

Staff are well-supported, and there is a strong emphasis on teamwork, training, and pupil wellbeing.
