How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary setting in Hertfordshire.

This role involves supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), many of whom are working at an early developmental stage. As such, early years knowledge or experience is highly desirable. You will work closely with students on a 1:1 and small group basis, using sensory and communication-focused approaches to support learning, development, and independence.

This is a highly rewarding role suited to someone patient, resilient, and committed to making a meaningful difference every day.

    About the School

This is a specialist primary setting with extensive experience supporting children with a wide range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), learning difficulties, and speech and language needs. The school provides a nurturing, structured environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Support pupils with SLD on a 1:1 and small group basis
    • Deliver learning through early years-style approaches (sensory play, routines, communication-led activities)
    • Assist with personal care where required
    • Support communication, social interaction, and independence skills
    • Work with pupils with ASD, sensory needs, and complex behaviours
    • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff

    Requirements
    • Experience in SEN or early years settings (school, nursery, or similar)
    • Understanding of early developmental stages and play-based learning
    • Patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
    • Comfortable supporting personal care needs
    • Strong commitment to consistency and supporting vulnerable learners
    • A genuine passion for inclusive education

    What We Offer
    • A supportive and specialist team environment
    • Ongoing training and professional development
    • A rewarding role with real impact on childrens lives
    • Valuable experience within a highly regarded SEN setting

If you have a background in early years or SEN and are looking for a role where you can truly make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
