How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you a supportive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We are currently seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming primary schools in South London from September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential in both KS1 and KS2 settings. You will be working closely with class teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored in-class and small group support.

Schools are looking for individuals who are patient, resilient, and committed to creating a positive impact on children’s learning and emotional development. You will be joining inclusive environments where every child is valued and supported to succeed.

These roles are full-time, long-term positions, with opportunities to progress within supportive school settings.

    Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN needs
Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted and accessible learning activities
Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
Implement individual support strategies and behaviour plans
Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence in learning
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

    Candidate Requirements:

Experience working with children (school-based or transferable experience)
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
    Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils

    Safeguarding & Compliance Requirements:

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
    Recent, relevant references
Right to work in the UK
For more information or to register your interest in our role, or to be considered, please click ‘apply now’ to submit your full and up-to-date CV (ensure that the correct details along with your experiences, ethos, and aspirations are included) and one of our dedicated consultants, will be in touch.

We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses. In addition to that, GSL Education is currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants (Ts &Cs apply).
