How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Key Responsibilities

    Supporting Pupils
    Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs, including anxiety, trauma, and behavioural challenges.
    Build positive relationships to promote trust, engagement, and wellbeing.
    Support emotional regulation using de-escalation and behaviour strategies.
    Encourage positive behaviour, social interaction, and independence.
    Support pupils during unstructured times and transitions.

    Supporting Teaching and Learning
    Work with the teacher to adapt activities to meet pupils’ needs.
    Support re-engagement with learning following dysregulation.
    Deliver targeted interventions (e.g. emotional literacy, social skills).
    Implement IEPs, EHCPs, and behaviour support plans.

    Monitoring and Reporting
    Track and record behaviour, progress, and emotional responses.
    Provide feedback to the teacher and SENCO.
    Contribute to reviews and maintain accurate records.

    Supporting the School
    Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
    Follow safeguarding and behaviour policies.
    Work with staff, families, and external professionals.

    Essential

    Experience working with children or young people, particularly with SEMH needs.
    Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
    Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    Understanding of behaviour as communication.
    Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

    Desirable

    Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant).
    Training in behaviour or trauma-informed approaches.
    Experience in SEMH or alternative provision settings.
    Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

    Working Conditions

    Term-time only, with training days as required.
    May involve managing challenging behaviour in line with school policy
