How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Smile Education are proud to be representing The Endeavour Multi Academy Trust in their search for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join one of their secondary special schools in Tamworth on a part-time basis.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive and inclusive environment, helping students with additional needs to thrive both academically and personally.

    About the Role
    You will support students aged 11–19 with a range of special educational needs, including autism, challenging behaviours, and learning disabilities. Working both in class and on a one-to-one basis, you’ll play a key role in supporting learning, behaviour, and emotional development.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Supporting students in lessons and through tailored interventions
    Promoting positive behaviour and implementing de-escalation strategies
    Encouraging social and emotional development
    Working closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging learning activities
    Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environmentAbout You
    Holds a relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (essential)
    Has recent experience supporting children or young people with SEN
    Confident in behaviour management and able to remain calm under pressure
    Passionate, proactive, and adaptable in approach
    Strong communication and teamwork skillsRequirements
    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
