How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Why choose our Client?

Our client is a quirky, luxurious hotel on the Devon coast. This stunning property has a fantastic reputation, breathtaking views, and is steeped in history and stories.

Serving award-winning food where fresh ingredients are all sourced locally in Devon, guests are spoilt for choice with 2 fine dining restaurants on site: a formal restaurant or a more relaxed, seafood restaurant. The hotel also owns the nearby pub which serves hearty coastal fare, and the incoming Chef de Partie must be flexible to support the pub too, when required.

The kitchen team here are working to a high standard and have a real passion and drive to serve the best, fine dining food around. Our client is therefore looking for a like-minded individual who is a people person and a team player.

Staff live in accommodation is available with this role, if required.

Please note: due to the remote location, this role may be more suited to someone with their own transport, as public transport options in the area are limited.

    What's involved?

Our client is looking for a talented and dedicated Chef de Partie with proven experience in a fine dining environment. You'll need to demonstrate a strong understanding of culinary techniques, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering consistency and perfection. This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard kitchen, who can contribute positively to a close-knit, driven team, and who is eager to learn and grow.

Under the direction of the Executive Chef, you'll be at the heart of the action, responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Our client is looking for someone with an unwavering eye for detail and the ability to stay calm and collected, even when the heat is on!

You must also be flexible to support the pub kitchen when required, serving high volume dishes during peak season.

But it's not just about what you create; it's about who you help shape. You'll play a key role in mentoring and training junior chefs, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of excellence. Of course, maintaining impeccable food hygiene and health and safety standards is paramount, and you'll ensure both yourself and your team uphold these at all times.

Previous experience of working to high standards is preferred for this role, as well as a background in preparing and cooking high-quality, fresh ingredients.

Staff live in accommodation is available with this role, if required.

Please note: due to the remote location, this role may be more suited to someone with their own transport, as public transport options in the area are limited.
