How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Learner Engagement Officer (Employability & Adult Education)

Location: West Yorkshire (Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Wakefield)
    Salary: £35,000 – £40,000

Want to play a key role in connecting adults to education, employability programmes, and real career opportunities? This is your chance to work at the heart of the adult education and skills sector, supporting learners into training, qualifications, and sustainable employment across West Yorkshire.

    About the Company

This opportunity sits within a well-established and forward-thinking training provider operating across the Employability, Skills, and Adult Education (AEB-funded) sector. Focused on delivering high-quality adult learning and employability programmes, the organisation works closely with local communities, job centres, and employers to create real progression routes for learners.

You’ll be joining a supportive, inclusive environment that values collaboration, invests in staff development, and encourages innovation. With a strong reputation in AEB delivery and learner outcomes, they are committed to making a measurable social impact.

    Why join?

    * Supportive and collaborative team culture

    * Ongoing professional development (including IAG qualifications)

    * Strong focus on learner outcomes and social impact

    * Opportunity to work across AEB, employability, and skills programmes

    * Autonomy in a community-focused, outreach-driven role

    About the Job

As a Learner Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for driving learner recruitment and engagement onto Adult Education Budget (AEB) programmes, including employability training, vocational courses, and skills-based learning. This is a field-based, relationship-driven role where you’ll engage directly with communities, referral partners, and unemployed individuals to promote learning opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Build and maintain partnerships with Job Centres, community organisations, and referral networks

    * Promote and recruit learners onto AEB-funded courses and employability programmes

    * Deliver high-quality Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to prospective learners

    * Support delivery of learner engagement strategies to meet KPIs and enrolment targets

    * Attend outreach events, job fairs, and community engagement sessions

    * Maintain accurate and compliant learner records in line with ESFA/AEB funding requirements

    * Track engagement activity and report on performance metrics

    * Support learners throughout their journey, ensuring retention and progression

    * Stay up to date with AEB funding rules, employability trends, and adult education developments

    Ideal Candidate

You’ll be a motivated and people-focused professional with experience in learner engagement, employability, or adult education recruitment, and a strong understanding of the skills sector.

    You will have:

    * Experience as a Learner Engagement Officer, Employability Advisor, or Outreach Officer

    * Knowledge of Adult Education Budget (AEB), ESFA funding, or employability programmes

    * Experience working with unemployed learners or community-based engagement

    * An IAG qualification (Level 2/3/4) or willingness to work towards one

    * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

    * Ability to meet learner recruitment targets and KPIs

    * Good IT skills and experience maintaining compliant learner data

    * A proactive, self-driven approach with the ability to work in the field
