About the Role
Tradewind Recruitment are working with schools in the Corby area to recruit dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistants. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
You will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning by providing both academic and emotional support, working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
Help students regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies
Support engagement in lessons and encourage participation
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
Monitor and record student progress and wellbeing
What We're Looking For
Experience working with young people, particularly those with additional needs (SEMH, SEN, behaviour support, youth work, etc.)
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Resilience and the ability to manage challenging situations
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
