How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Maintenance Engineer – Staff – Salary + Benefits – Lincolnshire

    Our leading manufacturing client is seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer on a permanent staff position. You will be delivering high plant reliability, maintaining asset integrity and providing support for future development of operational sites, including CapEx projects.

    Driving reliability improvements and asset care optimization strategies through the local engineering team with support from specialist contracting companies as required.

    Management of engineering activities across multiple sites with support from the Operations Manager and Site Managers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Health and Safety: Ensure all engineering activities are executed safely and in accordance with RAMS and Control of Work procedures.

    * Delivery of Site Performance: Support site performance delivery by ensuring plant reliability standards are defined, documented and met.

    * Engineering Consumables and Tools: Responsible for the safe storage and stock control of engineering consumables and tooling.

    * Engineering Planning: Manage planned and breakdown maintenance using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), striving for more planned and less reactive maintenance.

    * Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out safely with appropriate risk assessments and systems of work, maintaining compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental systems. Lead investigations into safety or compliance issues.

    * Continuous Improvement: Develop a culture of continuous improvement, implementing changes to improve safety, efficiency, and productivity. Ensure non-conformances are closed out with appropriate corrective and preventative actions.

    * Team Leadership: Build and maintain a strong team, ensuring effective communication, high morale, and strong procedural compliance. Provide hands-on troubleshooting and coaching.

    * Training and Development: Ensure training needs are identified and delivered. Monitor staff training and certifications.

    * Resource Management: Allocate engineering resources effectively to meet priorities and production demands.

    * Maintenance Oversight: Organise repair and routine maintenance of equipment, services, and facilities. Oversee inspections to ensure compliance.

    * Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of engineering activities and provide regular performance updates and reports to senior management.

    * Turnaround (Shutdown) Management: Own turnaround planning and execution, ensuring timely and efficient return to operation.

    * Supplier and Vendor Management: Manage vendor performance and contracts.

    * Engineering Standards: Maintain and update engineering standards, including auditing and certification processes.

    * Sustainability Initiatives: Implement sustainable practices, reduce waste, and optimise resource use.

    * Budget and Financial Management: Develop and manage engineering budgets, ensuring cost control and efficiency.

    * Innovation and Technology: Promote adoption of new technologies and automation to improve operations.

    * Stakeholder Engagement: Represent engineering in meetings with senior management and stakeholders.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    * The successful candidate is likely to be degree-qualified or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline with leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

    * Experience with safety, environmental, and quality management systems is essential, along with knowledge of best practices in the chemical industry.

    * The candidate must be able to work to tight deadlines, delegate effectively, perform under pressure, and demonstrate approachable leadership.

    * Willingness to challenge existing processes and drive improvement

    * Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (experience with ERP/CMMS systems advantageous).

    * NEBOSH or equivalent) preferred.

    * Full UK driving licence

    Working Hours:
    Standard hours are 45 per week, Monday to Friday, with additional hours and weekends required during peak periods. There are minimal travel involved in this role to other sites
