How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A specialist fire safety consultancy is seeking a Fire Door Surveyor to join their growing compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Fire Door Surveyor to work across a varied portfolio, including residential developments, healthcare sites, and commercial properties.

    The Fire Door Surveyor's Role
    The successful Fire Door Surveyor will carry out detailed fire door inspections in line with current regulations and industry standards. The Fire Door Surveyor will assess fire door compliance, identify defects, and produce clear, comprehensive reports for clients. This Fire Door Surveyor will liaise with contractors and clients to ensure remedial actions are understood and implemented effectively.

    The Fire Door Surveyor will be responsible for managing their own workload, attending sites nationwide, and maintaining high levels of accuracy and professionalism. This Fire Door Surveyor will also contribute to maintaining quality standards across the consultancy's fire door inspection services.

    The Fire Door Surveyor
    The ideal Fire Door Surveyor will hold relevant qualifications such as FDIS Diploma or equivalent fire door inspection certification. Previous experience inspecting fire doors across residential or commercial properties is essential. A strong understanding of BS 8214 and related guidance is highly desirable, alongside excellent attention to detail and reporting skills.
