How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

A specialist electronics engineering client of ours is looking for an experienced Test Technician to join their team on an urgent contract basis. You'll be at the heart of their motor testing operation - setting up and running dynamometer tests on electronic / electric drive systems and motors, working closely with engineers to ensure accurate, reliable results.

This is a hands-on role with real variety: from configuring test rigs and motors through to monitoring data acquisition systems, validating outputs and supporting troubleshooting on upgraded dyno platforms. If you're someone who takes pride in doing things properly and can hit the ground running in a technical environment, this is worth a look.

Setting up and executing rotational dynamometer (dyno) tests on electric motors and drive systems
Configuring motors, test rigs and associated equipment ahead of test runs
Operating and monitoring data acquisition systems throughout testing
Capturing, recording and validating test data to engineering standards
Supporting fault-finding and debug activities on dyno systems
Collaborating with engineers across all stages of test executionWhat We're Looking For

Previous dyno or test rig experience is strongly preferred, alongside an electrical or electronics bias. We're open to backgrounds across a range of sectors. Any of the following would be relevant:

    Automotive test & development
    Marine propulsion or naval systems
    Rail engineering
    Industrial motors or drives
Wind turbines or other rotating machineryYou should be practical, methodical and comfortable working in a fast-paced test environment with a degree of autonomy.

    Up to £55 per hour
    Outside IR35
3 month initial contract. Strong potential to extend or transition long-term
    Overtime available
    One-stage Teams interview
