How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

QA Tester, London (4 days onsite), £45,000 - £55,000 + Benefits (including Share Options)

We’re hiring a QA Automation Engineer to help transition from primarily manual testing to a modern, automation-first quality approach. This is a hands-on role where you’ll shape testing strategy, build frameworks, and improve release confidence across the product.

You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and operations to ensure software is reliable, testable, and delivered efficiently.

    What You’ll Do

    • Own and evolve the test automation strategy across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers
    • Build and maintain automated tests for both frontend (React) and backend (Node/TypeScript)
    • Develop a robust E2E testing suite using Playwright (or similar)
    • Expand unit and integration coverage using Jest and API testing tools
    • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines with fast feedback and clear reporting
    • Improve system testability (architecture, selectors, observability, test hooks)
    • Manage test data, environments, fixtures, and mocks to reduce flaky tests
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define acceptance criteria and reduce regressions
    • Support and improve manual QA processes during the transition to automation

    Experience Needed:

    • Proven experience building automation for modern web applications
    • Hands-on experience with Playwright (or similar) and Jest (or equivalent)
    • Experience testing both UI and API layers
    • Practical experience with CI pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)
    • Strong focus on reliability, stability, and actionable test outcomes

    Nice to Have

    • Experience writing automation in TypeScript
    • Knowledge of contract testing, component testing, or performance testing
    • Familiarity with Docker-based test environments and databases (PostgreSQL/MongoDB)
    • Experience in regulated industries (e.g. Fintech, payroll)
    • Experience supporting teams transitioning from manual to automated testing

If you're interested in this opportunity to join a growing technology scale-up in London and have a strong Manual & Automation QA background please apply with a copy of your CV.
