How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Design Engineer | £45,000 | Flexible Hours | Early Friday Finish | Hybrid Working | Career Development

    A Design Engineer opportunity has become available within a growing manufacturing business supplying high-value engineered products to customers worldwide. Operating from a well-invested site, the company combines modern and traditional manufacturing methods to produce technically advanced solutions across multiple sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their engineering team with the addition of a capable Design Engineer.

    In return, the business is offering a salary of circa £45,000, flexible working hours, early Friday finish, hybrid working options, staff recognition awards, and genuine long-term development opportunities.

    Design Engineer responsibilities include -

    Designing jigs, fixtures and gauges to support manufacturing needs.
    Producing and maintaining 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs and technical documentation.
    Supporting production teams with tooling, process and material-related engineering issues.
    Driving continuous improvement through tooling enhancements and design standardisation.
    Improving engineering systems and documentation processes to support operational efficiency.
    Working cross-functionally with manufacturing and quality teams to deliver robust solutions.Design Engineer desirable skills and experience -

    Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role such as Mechanical Design Engineer or Project Design Engineer.
    Proven design experience within a manufacturing / production environment.
    Strong 3D CAD experience using software such as CATIA or SolidWorks.
    Sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing methods.
    Able to manage multiple projects with strong organisation and attention to detail.Design Engineer benefits include -
