How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

A privately owned consultancy based in London (Waterloo) is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager to join their close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager to take on a broad, client-facing role across a range of projects.

The Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager will play a key role in both the commercial and project delivery aspects, acting as a central figure in driving schemes forward. This Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager position offers real responsibility, variety, and the chance to work closely with decision-makers in a fast-paced environment.

The Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager's role

The Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager will be responsible for managing both cost and project delivery elements across multiple schemes. The Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager will lead procurement processes, including appointing main contractors and design teams, and will take ownership of tender documentation and evaluation. As a Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager, you will chair client and design team meetings, ensuring projects are progressing in line with programme and budget. The Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager will also administer contracts, with a strong focus on JCT, and act in an Employer's Agent / Contract Administrator capacity where required.

The Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager

The ideal Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager will have 5+ years' UK experience within a consultancy or client-side environment. A Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager must have experience running tender processes and procuring both contractors and consultants. Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts is essential for this Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager role. A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar is preferred, although RICS accreditation is not required. The Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager will be proactive, adaptable, and confident leading meetings and driving projects forward.
