Performance and Excellence Associate
£50,000 + Car Allowance
This is a hybrid role requiring attendance at a local o ice two days per week.
In addition, there is occasional travel—approximately 10%—for monthly planner meetings and quarterly in-person team meetings.
Requirements - Diploma-level qualification in Financial Planning. J07 desirable.
The Performance & Excellence (P&E) Team is significantly involved in helping the business achieve its business objectives, and it plays a key role in maintaining high advice and service standards, driving performance, and supporting continuous development across the business for all employees in all roles.
Role Overview:
The Performance & Excellence Associate is instrumental in driving a high-performance culture and supporting the development of Financial Planners. This role blends training, performance management, and process optimisation to ensure that the team consistently meets best practice standards while fostering continuous improvement. This is a dynamic and strategic role that requires the ability to work autonomously while engaging across multiple teams to improve performance and client outcomes.
Description
Training & Development - Design, deliver, and facilitate training and coaching sessions (face-to-face, webinars, e-learning) to enhance capabilities of Financial Planners and support staff
Proactive Support & Feedback - Conduct regular 1-to-1 sessions with Financial Planners VC and Face to Face, providing structured feedback on skills and knowledge development, and performance and standards alignment. Ensure feedback is actionable and documented.
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work with Distribution, Operations, Risk & Compliance and other teams, to ensure alignment of performance goals, share best practices, and deliver impactful results.
Process Improvement & Analytical - Approach Use data to analyse performance trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend actionable insights to enhance operations and training.
Peer-to-Peer Learning & Engagement - Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices through structured peer discussions and collaborative learning sessions. Champion a continuous learning culture.
Project Management & Timely Delivery - Manage and deliver projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and align with our business goals. Provide support for the integration of new businesses and new Financial Planners and support staff, as relevant.
Competency & Skills Assessments - Conduct performance assessments, competency reviews, and outcome testing to ensure advice and service standards are met. Evaluate proficiency in key areas such as client engagement, technical knowledge, regulatory standards, and application of Goals Based Financial Planning through cashflow modelling.
Proactive & Initiative Driven - Demonstrates ownership of tasks, takes initiative to suggest improvements in Financial Planner training and performance processes.
Effective Communication- Communicates complex concepts effectively to a range of audiences, adjusting communication style based on the audience. Able to communicate effectively with staff in all roles across the business.
Collaboration & Teamwork - Works well in a cross-functional, collaborative environment, and fosters a supportive learning-driven culture.
Problem-Solving - Analyses data, identifies improvement areas, and implements effective solutions for performance enhancement.
Self-Management & Time Management - Demonstrates excellent organisational skills and manages a varied workload, meeting deadlines and maintaining efficiency.
Experience
Proven experience in a financial advice or wealth management role. Strong background in delivering training and supporting advisers to meet performance standards. Ability to use data to identify performance improvement opportunities. Familiarity with regulatory requirements in financial services. Experience in managing cross-departmental collaboration.
