About the Role
The HR Business Partner acts as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to Executive Committee, Senior Managers, and line managers within their assigned business areas. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing people strategies that directly support the organization’s long-term strategic objectives; Working collaboratively with senior leaders, the HR Business Partner proactively identifies workforce trends, anticipates future talent needs, and drives initiatives that foster a high-performance culture. By leveraging deep business insight and HR expertise, the role influences decision-making at the highest levels, ensuring that people plans are fully integrated with business strategies and that organizational change is managed effectively.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and their management teams, aligning people strategies with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with senior leaders and line managers to foster trust and proactive problem-solving.
- Lead on the delivery of company wide people initiatives and cyclical activities for designated business areas by utilising tools and processes provided e.g. Salary Review, Talent Mapping, Succession Planning, Engagement Survey, Manager Forums, Development initiatives.
- Influence business leaders decision-making on all elements of the people strategy ensuring activities and outcomes within the directorates are aligned to the plans objectives. E.g. Team development, engagement survey, Re-organisations.
- Lead strategic workforce planning, forecasting future talent needs, and integrating succession planning and leadership development. Work alongside the Recruitment Business Partners to identify business areas future resource planning needs and forecasts. Work with Finance to ensure needs are built into budgets and recruitment schedules. Oversee delivery of the workforce plans as appropriate.
- Ensure HR practices comply with UK employment law and financial services regulations, including Conduct Rules and risk management frameworks. Identify and mitigate regulatory and operational risks in employment situations.
- Build and maintain working relationships with line managers that enable them to seek advice and support when a concern is first identified, to aid in early resolution through informal interventions, therefore minimising risk and escalations.
- Keep at the forefront of developing employment legislation, best practice and utilise the different tools and approaches available to ensure the support provided is tailored to each situation and ensure the best possible outcome is achieved.
- Identify risks and opportunities in employment situations to ensure successful resolutions are achieved internally with learnings and recommendations being identified and implemented.
- Stay abreast of developments in employment legislation, HR trends, and financial services regulatory changes. Recommend and implement improvements to HR processes and policies to enhance compliance and organisational effectiveness.
- Use data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement working with the appropriate team to produce accurate HR reports, dashboards, and analytics to inform strategic decisions and track KPIs.
Qualifications
- CIPD Qualified or equivalent
- Comprehensive Generalist HR experience
- Experience of working within a Financial Services / Asset Management / Investment Operations environment
- Proven Employment Relations experience
Required Skills
- Established and seasoned experience as an HRBP within financial services or similar.
- Excellent communication skills & stakeholder management skills; able to challenge to reach a desired business outcome
- Influencing Skills, supplemented by an ability to build relationships quickly
- Coaching skills including showing empathy in certain situations
- Ability to be flexible to diverse and reactive situations, demonstrating diplomacy, impartiality and professionalism
- Ability to produce reports and provide insight on people data; contribute to dashboards and other MI quickly and accurately
- A logical thinker with an ability to question and analyse a wide range of information and able to form sound judgements and conclusions

Salary on offer will range between £80,000-85,000 base plus bonus and benefits.
