Having already placed a number of successful candidates with Clinton Devon Estates, we are pleased to present another exciting opportunity for a Chartered Surveyor seeking to build a long‑term career at the intersection of commercial estate management and renewable energy
investment.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Energy, the Estate Surveyor will be responsible for the management, optimisation and development of the Estate’s energy portfolio, alongside supporting the effective management of the Estate’s commercial property assets.
Based at the Estate’s offices, the role plays a key part in delivering the organisation’s 2030 Strategy, supporting investment decision‑making, asset performance and long‑term value creation. The position also offers exposure to new energy and property opportunities arising from the Estate’s evolving land and property use programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the Estate’s energy portfolio and associated contracts
- Identifying and supporting new energy opportunities
- Liaising with advisers, agents, contractors, utilities and legal teams
- Supporting commercial decision‑making across energy and property assets
- Managing commercial property matters including lettings, reviews, renewals and transactions
- Assisting with asset valuations and financial reporting
- Supporting budgeting, performance monitoring and asset systems
- Ensuring regulatory, statutory and H&S compliance
- Preparing reports, business cases and plans
- Supporting the wider Property, Land and Leadership teams
The Ideal Candidate
We are keen to speak with motivated and commercially astute surveyors who are comfortable working across technical, operational and strategic challenges. You will enjoy managing multiple assets and projects, taking ownership and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will ideally offer:
- Chartered Surveyor status (RICS), ideally 1–6 years’ PQE
- Experience in commercial property, energy assets, or infrastructure (or a strong transferable skill set)
- Property asset management and performance optimisation experience
- Knowledge of grid connections and liaison with DNOs
- Familiarity with UK planning, regulatory and compliance frameworks
- Strong commercial awareness, including contracts and contractor management
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills
- A proactive, detail‑focused and safety‑conscious approach
