Working Pattern: 4 days on-site, 1 day remote flexibility
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high-energy HR professional to join a premier engineering and manufacturing specialist close to Redditch. The company has experienced phenomenal growth, expanding from a £22m valuation to a £63m turnover business in recent years.
As they continue to scale, they are seeking a self-sufficient HR Advisor to join their high-impact team. Reporting directly to the site leadership, the successful candidate will be the "boots on the ground" expert for a facility of over 150 employees. This is a role for a "swan"—someone who can remain calm and professional on the surface while managing a high-volume, fast-paced workload behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Spectrum HR: Managing the entire employee lifecycle, from return-to-work support and coaching managers to leading disciplinary actions and complex ER cases.
- Site Autonomy: Acting as the primary HR point of contact 4 days a week, providing confident, independent decision-making when the HR Lead is off-site.
- Management Coaching: Serving as an assertive partner to line managers; the Advisor will coach and empower them to take ownership of their people responsibilities.
- Apprenticeship Coordination: Supporting a thriving apprenticeship scheme, collaborating with the Engineering Manager to manage Levy funding and mentor future talent.
- Financial & ESG Involvement: Managing training and lower-level HR budgets while contributing to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) submissions, particularly regarding labor and human rights.
- Mentorship: Building a development plan for and coaching a full-time HR Coordinator to help them progress in their career.
Candidate Profile
This organisation is looking for an SME specialist who understands how to navigate growth and handle unstructured days.
- Experience: A proven track record in a generalist HR role within an SME environment is essential (Manufacturing or Hospitality backgrounds are highly regarded).
- Qualifications: HR-related qualifications CIPD level 5, and a commitment to ongoing CPD development are expected.
- Attributes: Candidates must be self-sufficient, assertive, and approachable, with the ability to react quickly to the needs of a growing site.
- Apprenticeship Knowledge: An understanding of apprenticeship schemes and Levy funding is a distinct advantage.
- Presence: This role requires being on-site 4 days a week at the facility to effectively liaise with staff and managers.
