How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Employee Relations Advisor

    12‑month Fixed Term Contract

    Up to £50,000

We are working with a high-profile, people focused organisation to recruit an experienced Employee Relations Advisor for a 12‑month fixed term contract. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you will play a crucial part in supporting managers through the full employee relations lifecycle, providing proactive, pragmatic and timely ER support across a wide range of people issues. Acting as a trusted advisor to line managers, you will ensure consistency, compliance and best practice across all ER activity, while contributing to wider ER improvement projects.

This opportunity will suit an ER professional who enjoys pace, variety and autonomy, and who is confident operating in an operational environment with a broad and diverse workforce.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Provide expert advice, coaching and guidance to line managers across all ER matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance, probation and policy interpretation.
    • Manage and track a varied ER caseload, providing regular updates and escalating higher‑risk cases appropriately.
    • Ensure consistency of approach and high standards of documentation across all ER activity.
    • Review ER processes and practices, recommending improvements aligned with best practice.
    • Deliver ER‑related project work alongside day‑to‑day case management.

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment legislation and its practical application.
    • Proven experience in an HR Advisory or Employee Relations role, ideally within an operational environment.
    • Confidence supporting disciplinary, grievance and investigation processes end‑to‑end, including note‑taking at hearings.
    • The ability to manage and prioritise a high‑volume, varied workload effectively.
    • Strong organisational skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
    • A resilient, professional approach with the confidence to challenge constructively when required.
    • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience ideally).

If you are an ER professional looking for your next opportunity to contribute to ER process improvements and projects in a supportive, collaborative HR environment, please apply now.
