Mechanical Fitter - The Role:

Mechanical assembly and testing of mechanical systems including water, pneumatic, vacuum and inert gas systems
Installation of pipework and components using mild steel, stainless steel and copper
Assembly of manifolds, pump skids and interconnecting pipework
Installation of pneumatic lines, valves, air islands and gas lines
Installation of vacuum pipelines and associated components (bolted systems)
Precision mechanical assembly of mechanical components to high quality standards
Mechanical fault finding and inspection of component parts
Vacuum and pressure testing of systems (training provided)
Carry out on-site repairs and installations at customer premises

Mechanical Fitter - The Person:

Time served Mechanical Fitter with proven hands-on experience
Strong experience working with stainless steel, mild steel and copper pipework
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is essential
Experience in pneumatics and vacuum systems; hydraulics experience advantageous
Brazing experience desirable; basic welding skills beneficial
Flexible attitude and willingness to develop new skills
Ideally holds forklift, scissor lift and confined space certifications
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

Located in the Glasgow area, this role would be commutable from Cumbernauld, East Kilbride, Hamilton, Motherwell, Larkhall and surrounding areas.
