How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Your new company

    You will be joining a leading global accounting and professional services firm with an established reputation for excellence, innovation, and client service. Within the UK Payroll team, you will be part of a high‑performing function that delivers accurate, compliant, end‑to‑end payroll services across multiple industries.

    Your new role

    As a Payroll assistant, you will support the delivery of end‑to‑end UK payroll processing for a range of clients. Your responsibilities will include preparing payroll data, processing starters and leavers, calculating statutory payments, and assisting with RTI submissions to HMRC. You will help with payroll reconciliations, maintain accurate employee records, and handle routine payroll queries. You will also gain exposure to payroll systems, compliance requirements, and process improvements while working closely with senior payroll professionals and cross-functional teams.

    What you'll need to succeed

    Some experience with UK end-to-end payroll
    Basic understanding of UK payroll principles, including tax, NI, pensions, and statutory payments.
    Strong numerical ability and exceptional attention to detail.
    Confident using Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and data handling.
    Good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines.
    A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong team ethos.
    An interest in developing a career in payroll, with the ambition to work towards CIPP qualifications.What you'll get in return
