Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s Home

Location: Winsford, Cheshire (CW7)
Salary: Up to £42,500 per year
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Pattern

* 3 administrative days + 1 shift per week

* Includes evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties (paid allowance)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join a high-quality residential children’s home supporting young people who have experienced trauma and challenging behaviours.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader ready to step up, or an existing Deputy Manager looking to join a supportive, therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the Registered/Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the home

* Lead and supervise the staff team to deliver high-quality care

* Deputise in the absence of the Home Manager

* Ensure care plans are implemented effectively to meet young people’s needs

* Contribute to shift planning and staff deployment

* Work in partnership with external professionals and agencies

* Deliver and support direct work with young people

* Lead and participate in MDT (multi-disciplinary) meetings

* Provide staff supervision in line with Ofsted standards

Requirements

Essential:

* Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in residential childcare

* At least 12 months’ experience working with young people with challenging behaviour (including 6 months at senior level)

* Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People (or equivalent)

* Full UK driving licence

* Experience acting as an appropriate adult

* Minimum age requirement: 21 years

* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
