Building Surveyor
City of London | £80,000 + car + transparent bonus
The same title, with a very different proposition.
There is a version of your career where you are genuinely known, properly developed, and rewarded in direct proportion to what you contribute. This is that version.
The Head of Project & Building Consultancy here built and led one of the most respected teams in the industry over a 20-year tenure, a period during which he developed a number of the people now shaping the market. He has joined this firm because it gives him something most platforms cannot: genuine ownership of what he builds. He is now looking for a Building Surveyor who wants to be part of that from the start.
Why this firm
Genuine career autonomy. Whether your interest lies in a niche specialism, a broad project mix, or the early stages of team leadership, that conversation is welcomed here. Your trajectory is not decided for you.
First-class clients. The client list is one of the better ones in the City: high-profile instructions, properly scoped briefs, and fees to match.
Training that is actually delivered. Partner-led, structured and treated as part of the working week rather than something that happens when time permits.
A bonus worth understanding. You will not need a PhD in Finance to work out how it is calculated. Mechanical, transparent, and worthwhile, with no discretionary ambiguity or shifting goalposts. They want you to share in the success.
The firm. When a practice is older than some of the buildings it surveys, it has earned the right to say it knows a thing or two about longevity. Fewer than 100 people: substantial enough to carry a full-lifecycle offering and the client relationships that go with it, small enough that you will know everyone in the room at the Christmas party. Privately owned, with stable leadership and no appetite for the kind of institutional sale that tends to hollow a business out.
What you will need
- A minimum of three years' RICS post-qualification experience
- Willingness to be office-based at least three days per week
- Ambition, coachability and the professional polish to represent the firm well
If this resonates, get in touch and we can talk through the fit on both sides.
