How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Children’s Residential Support Worker

    Location: Tuxford, Nottinghamshire
    Salary: £13 per hour + £70 per sleep
    Contract: Full‑time, Permanent
    Rota: 2‑week rolling rota
    Setting: Residential Children’s Home (EBD)

    About the Provider

    Our client is a small, family‑owned residential care provider based in Nottinghamshire, operating nine children’s homes. Recently rated Outstanding by Ofsted, the organisation is known for delivering a nurturing, therapeutic, and child‑focused environment for children aged 5–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

    The Role

    We are seeking a Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a committed and supportive team within an established home in Tuxford, supporting up to four children.

    This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a real difference, providing consistent therapeutic care, and acting as a positive role model for young people with complex emotional needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver high‑quality, therapeutic care to children aged 8–14

    Support young people with emotional regulation, routines, education, and personal development

    Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people

    Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and stability within the home

    Work collaboratively within a supportive, child‑centred team

    Maintain accurate daily records, contribute to care planning, and follow safeguarding procedures

    Essential Skills & Experience

    * Full UK driving licence (essential)

    * Experience supporting children with EBD and/or within a trauma‑informed care framework (desirable)

    * Strong communication and literacy skills

    * Willingness to work towards a Level 3 QCF in Residential Childcare

    * Applicants must be 21 years or over

    Training & Development

    Group sessions with the home’s therapist

    Working Pattern

    2‑Week Rolling Rota

    Week 1:

    2 shifts:

    8:00am – 11:00pm + sleep (11:00pm – 7:00am)

    7:00am – 11:00pm + sleep

    Week 2:

    3 shifts:

    8:00am – 11:00pm + sleep (11:00pm – 7:00am)

    7/8:00am – 11:00pm + sleep

    One additional 7/8:00am – 11:00pm + sleep (connected or separate from the other shifts)
