How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home
    Location: Bingham, Nottinghamshire (NG13)

    Salary: £14.00–£14.50 per hour + £70 per sleep‑in

    Hours: Full‑Time, Permanent

    The Role: Senior Support Worker

    We are recruiting a committed Senior Support Worker for an established children’s residential home in Bingham (NG13). This is a beautiful detached rural property supporting three children aged 8–14 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

    As a Senior Support Worker, you will act as a consistent therapeutic parent, providing high levels of care, stability and emotional support within a nurturing, trauma‑informed environment.

    This Senior Support Worker role suits someone who values meaningful relationships, reflective practice and delivering genuinely child‑centred care.

    About the Provider

    The provider is a small, family‑owned and fully regulated children’s residential care organisation operating nine homes across Nottinghamshire. Recently rated Outstanding by Ofsted, the organisation is known for its therapeutic approach, strong leadership and genuine investment in staff development and wellbeing.

    Key Responsibilities – Senior Support Worker

    Deliver therapeutic, child‑centred care aligned with care plans

    Promote emotional wellbeing, positive relationships and personal development

    Support routines, education and daily living skills

    Work collaboratively within a supportive staff team

    Apply trauma‑informed approaches including PACE and DDP

    Maintain safeguarding standards and clear, accurate record‑keeping

    Training & Development

    Full 2‑week induction programme

    Funded QCF Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications

    Regular 1:1 supervision and group sessions with the home’s therapist

    In‑house training and ongoing professional development

    Structured career progression pathways

    Requirements

    * Minimum 1 year’s experience in a regulated children’s residential home

    * Level 3 QCF Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)

    * Experience supporting children with EBD (PACE/DDP desirable)

    * Strong communication and written skills

    * Aged 21 or over

    * Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)

    * Enhanced DBS and safer recruitment checks required
