Academics are working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Devizes that are seeking a committed 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to work closely with a pupil with complex needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide consistent, tailored support to help a student access learning, develop confidence, and feel safe within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with additional or complex needs
Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
Foster a nurturing, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Work closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, and external professionals
Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
Ideal Candidate
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
Calm, patient, and resilient nature
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build trusting, consistent relationships
Confident managing challenging behaviour where required
Holds a current DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one
