How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Design Engineer

    £40-45k + Pension, Overtime, £7k Car Allowance

    Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:

    Design and deliver medium to large-scale electrical projects within renewables and marine sectors
    Produce electrical schematics, panel layouts, system architecture drawings and cable schedules using EPLAN (or similar)
    Ensure all designs meet industry standards, regulations and customer specifications
    Carry out system testing, including internal testing and FAT
    Prepare key project documentation (FAT, FDS, O&M manuals, customer packs)
    Work with subcontractors to maintain build quality and standards
    Develop efficient technical solutions based on customer requirements
    Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to support project delivery and optimise solutions
    Continuously improve designs through lessons learned
    Support project execution, including occasional travel to customer sites

    Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:

    Degree, HNC, or apprenticeship in Electrical, Electronic or Automation Engineering
    Proven experience in an electrical engineering environment
    Proficient in EPLAN or similar design software
    Strong electrical hardware design skills (LV drives/inverters)
    Good problem-solving and organisational skills
    Customer-focused with a proactive and adaptable approach
    Able to work independently and collaboratively within global teams
    Experience in solution-based environments (desirable)
    Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally

    Located in Shropshire, this role would be commutable from Telford, Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury, Stafford.
