How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Residential Support Worker (Children’s Home)

    Location: Ilford, East London

    Salary: £13.50 – £15.00 per hour (paid monthly)

    Hours: Full‑time, shift‑based (Mon–Sun)

    Day Shifts: 8:00am – 8:30pm Waking Nights: 8:00pm – 8:30am

    We are seeking full‑time Residential Support Workers to support children and young people in a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment. This is a rewarding role where you will help create positive outcomes and stability for those in your care.

    Essential Requirements

    *

    Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children or young people in any care, education or support setting.

    *

    Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

    *

    Ability to advocate for young people and promote their wellbeing

    *

    Reliable, professional, and committed to safeguarding

    Desirable

    *

    Residential childcare experience (highly advantageous)

    *

    Experience working effectively within a team

    *

    High integrity and emotional resilience

    Support children and young people in daily routines

    *

    Create and maintain a safe, nurturing home environment

    *

    Build positive, trusting relationships as a key worker

    *

    Promote education, independence, and positive behaviour

    Maintain a clean, organised home environment

    Complete accurate records and essential admin
