How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Cover Supervisor
    Location: Redcar
    Salary: £90–£120 per day (dependent on experience)
    Start Date: Immediate
    Contract Type: Full-Time / Flexible
    A supportive secondary school in Redcar is seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team. This Cover Supervisor role is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience or those with previous experience working with young people in an educational setting.
    The successful Cover Supervisor will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher. As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage classroom behaviour, ensure pupils remain engaged and maintain a positive learning environment throughout the school day.
    Key Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:
    * Supervising classes and delivering pre-set work.
    * Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
    * Ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged in learning.
    * Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons.
    * Supporting pupils with questions related to the work set.
    * Promoting a safe and positive learning environment.
    The Ideal Cover Supervisor Will:
    * Have previous experience working with young people or within a school setting.
    * Be confident leading a classroom independently.
    * Have strong communication and behaviour management skills.
    * Be adaptable, proactive and professional.
    * Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
    * Have a fully checkable work history.
