How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established paper manufacturing site with a strong engineering culture and a real focus on reliability.

This is an opportunity for a true engineer - someone who appreciates both legacy machinery and modern upgrades. This is not a highly automated, high-CAPEX environment where equipment is replaced at the first fault. Instead, this site believes in:

    Reliability-centred maintenance

    Continuous improvement

    Process optimisation

    Engineering-led problem solving

Getting the absolute best performance from existing assets

If you enjoy improving plant performance, enhancing reliability, and making meaningful engineering improvements - this is the role for you.

    Shift Pattern & Overtime

    Rotating days and nights

You will work an average of 13 shifts per month

Includes 10 consecutive days off every month

Excellent work-life balance compared to traditional shift roles

Overtime paid at time and a half

Regular availability of additional overtime days

This pattern offers significant time off while maintaining strong earning potential.

    Key Responsibilities

Electrical maintenance support across production and site services

Fault finding and repair on a mix of ageing and upgraded equipment

Work on motors, drives, control panels, PLC-controlled systems

Participate in PPM and reactive maintenance

Support reliability improvements and root cause analysis

Contribute to small project work and plant modifications

Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers and operations teams

Maintain high safety standards in a heavy industrial environment

    Engineering Environment

    You will work across:

    Paper manufacturing and converting machinery

    Pumps, motors, gearboxes and conveyors

    Variable speed drives (VSDs)

PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar)

    Industrial control panels and instrumentation

Utilities including steam, compressed air and water systems

This is a hands-on industrial site where practical engineering ability is valued.

    Essential Experience & Qualifications

    Time-served Electrician / Electrical Engineer

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering

    18th Edition Wiring Regulations

Experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments

    Strong electrical fault-finding skills

Experience with motors, inverters, control circuits and panels

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings

Comfortable working shifts in a continuous production setting

    Desirable Experience

Experience within paper manufacturing or continuous process industries

    PLC fault-finding capability

    Knowledge of reliability-centred maintenance (RCM)

    Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience

    Instrumentation and calibration experience

    Test & Inspection qualification

Experience improving and maintaining ageing plant assets

    The Ideal Engineer

    You'll be someone who:

Takes pride in improving equipment rather than replacing it

    Has a strong reliability mindset

    Thinks proactively and analytically

    Enjoys solving complex faults

Wants to influence plant performance and site standards

    Values engineering craftsmanship

    What's On Offer

    Competitive base salary

    Overtime paid at 1.5x

    Strong earning potential

10 consecutive days off per month

    Stable, well-established manufacturing site

A role where engineering genuinely makes the difference
