How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Graduate Structural Engineer
    Are you a Graduate Structural Engineer looking to develop your career within a design-focused consultancy?

    This is an opportunity to join a well-established structural engineering practice delivering high-quality projects across the residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors. You will work as part of a collaborative team, contributing to thoughtful and efficient structural solutions from concept through to construction.

    Working closely with experienced engineers, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of projects and play an active role in the delivery of structural designs, coordination with project teams, and the successful progression of projects through all design stages.

    Responsibilities

    Assist engineers with structural analysis and design for building projects.
    Support the preparation of structural calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
    Contribute to the development of design solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.
    Work with architects and other consultants as part of the design team.
    Attend site visits and project meetings where appropriate.
    Assist with reviewing drawings and project information.
    Ensure work is carried out in line with relevant standards and project requirements.
    Requirements

    MEng Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum 2:1), or BEng Civil/Structural Engineering (minimum 2:1) with relevant industry experience such as a placement year or internship.
    Interest in pursuing a career in structural engineering consultancy.
    Basic understanding of structural engineering principles and common construction materials.
    Familiarity with structural analysis or drafting software is beneficial but not essential.
    Good written and verbal communication skills.
    Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
    Right to work in the UK (Visa sponsorship not available).
