How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fraser Edwards are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Supervisor for a long-term contract role based in Hardham, West Sussex.

    This role will be working on a large clean water project in Pulborough (RH20 1LA), involving significant mechanical installation works, including pipework up to approximately 800mm.

    Our client is a well-established contractor delivering major infrastructure projects. Due to ongoing project demands, they are looking to bring in an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to support site operations.

    Pay: £280.00-£300.00 per day

    This is a hands-on, working supervisor role, ideal for someone who can lead a small team while remaining actively involved in installation work.

    The Role:

    * Supervise and lead a team of mechanical pipefitters on site

    * Carry out hands-on mechanical installation work

    * Read and interpret technical drawings to support installation

    * Install and oversee large-scale pipework systems (up to 800mm)

    * Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures

    * Coordinate daily activities to maintain productivity and workflow

    * Work collaboratively with other trades and site management teams

    Essential Requirements:

    * Proven experience in mechanical installation (pipework essential)

    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

    * Experience leading or supervising teams on site

    * Strong understanding of health & safety procedures

    * Mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferred)

    * CSCS card (preferred)

    Desirable:

    * SSSTS or SMSTS (not essential)

    * Experience working on water treatment or clean water sites

    * Water Hygiene certification (can be provided if required)

    Package:

    * Long-term contract (running through most of 2026)

    Schedule:

    * Full-time hours

    * Monday to Friday
