How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Parts Handler

    Contek Recruitment Solutions are collaborating with our client who are a world-leading manufacturer of refuse collection vehicles (RCVs), bodies, and bin lifts, based in the UK with over 100 years of heritage. they are offering a competitive salary of up to £29,064 per annum DOE, this role also includes benefits such as a supportive work environment and opportunities for professional growth.

    Ideal candidates will have previous experience working with HGV Parts

    Key Responsibilities:
    - Accurately pick and pack spare parts based on customer and workshop orders.
    - Maintain inventory accuracy through regular stock checks and reporting.
    - Prepare and label shipments in line with company and shipping standards.
    - Inspect parts for damage or defects before dispatch.
    - Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet trucks.

    Skills, Experience, and Education:
    - Communication: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    - Knowledge/Expertise: Previous experience in a spare parts or stores environment; GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
    - Innovation: Able to work independently and use initiative to solve problems.
    - Business Impact: Comfortable working at height using access equipment and high bay aisle pickers; Forklift truck licence (Counterbalance) is desirable.

    Accountabilities:
    - Ensure timely and accurate completion of all picking, packing, and dispatch tasks.
    - Demonstrate leadership by collaborating effectively with team members to meet operational goals.
