How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Facilities Officer for Immediate Start
Royal Greenwich Trust School is looking to appoint a dedicated and professional Facilities Officer to join our inclusive and forward-thinking school community.
Our staff are driven, innovative and dedicated to supporting excellent student outcomes; ensuring every child makes strong progress, reaches their full potential, and leaves school as a happy, confident and well-educated global citizen.
This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic, hands‑on individual to join a small but highly productive team within a growing and ambitious secondary school, committed to making a real difference for our students and staff.
As a Facilities Officer, you will:
    * Play a vital role in ensuring school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, compliant and well‑maintained, supporting a positive environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
    * Deliver a wide range of facilities services including reactive and planned maintenance, porterage, minor repairs, janitorial support, and room, event and sports set‑ups.
    * Act as a keyholder, supporting site security and fire safety, including opening and closing the site, responding to emergencies, and monitoring access, parking and alarms.
    * Promote high standards of health, safety and safeguarding, working with contractors and colleagues to ensure compliance with Trust policies and statutory requirements.
    * Work flexibly as part of a supportive facilities team, using the CAFM system to respond to requests, liaise with staff and service providers, and contribute to continuous improvement across the Trust.
    About you
We want to hear from you if you are:
    * Suitably skilled and experienced
    * A flexible and proactive team player, ready to contribute to school life
    * Professional, organised, and committed to high standards
    * Able to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
Start Date: Immediate Start Pending Pre-employment Checks
Applications are reviewed and interviews may be arranged on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply promptly. We reserve the right to start or conclude the recruitment process prior to the advertised closing date.
Please note, we do not accept CVs alone.
We do not accept applications via agencies.
    Safeguarding Information
All posts involving direct contact with children and vulnerable adults are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are 'protected'. These are not subject to disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account. Guidance on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found on the Disclosure and Barring Service website.
In line with Safer Recruitment guidelines and legal obligations to ensure that safeguarding is a paramount consideration in recruitment processes, employers are required to carry out an enhanced DBS check for this role. To supplement this, we ask you to confirm whether or not you have ever been convicted of a criminal offence which is not 'protected'. If you answer 'yes', you will be asked to supply details of all relevant convictions at a later stage, should your application be progressed.
Information given in response to this question will not be used during the shortlisting process. The data will only be referred to if your application is progressed, informing the pre-employment checking process.
The University Schools Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS Check.
In accordance with our Company Policies and KCSIE guidelines set out by the Department for Education, a background check will be carried out on your online digital presence. For this we use a third-party professional screening partner, SP Index experienced in processing personal data for the purpose of such checks
