How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Teaching Assistant
    * Location: Scunthorpe
    * Sector: Independent SEND school
    * Job type: Full time, Monday-Friday, term time only
    * Salary: £105 - £115 per day

    A teaching assistant is needed for an outstanding independent school in Scunthorpe for neurodivergent children aged 7-19.
    As a teaching assistant, you will primarily support students with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), as well as students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other complex needs.
    Being a teaching assistant at this school, you will become a part of a highly supportive team with exceptional senior leadership and fantastic resources.
    Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
    * Working with and supporting students with ASD, ADHD and other needs, such as anxiety or requiring support with communication.
    * Providing academic support, either one-on-one or in a small group.
    * Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom culture and providing emotional support when needed.
    * Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
    * Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self-control.
    * Assisting with lesson planning and delivery.
    * Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
    Teaching Assistant Requirements:
    * The right to work in the UK.
    * A clear and up-to-date DBS.
    * Experience working as a teaching assistant.
    * Experience working with young people and an understanding of ASD.
    * The ability and confidence to really engage and interact with the students.
    * A patient and 'can-do' attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
