How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Manufacturing Operator
    Location: Basingstoke
    Pay Rate: £13.46 (Without 20% shift allowance) = £16.15 per hour
    Shifts: Monday - Friday 6:00 - 14:00 or 14:00 - 22:00 weekly rotation

    The main function of a Manufacturing Operator is to carry out the production process by closely following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instruction Documents and blueprints or drawings as they relate to assembly, materials handling, equipment operation, and finished goods packaging. This position requires following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and capable of keeping up with a fast- paced collaborative environment. Our team is dynamic and fast paced, relying on teamwork, multitasking, and communication within the team and the larger organisation. We are seeking an upbeat individual with strong communication, technical and operational skills to join our team. This position will be responsible for supporting the team in achieving daily production schedules and product quality goals.

    What will you do?
    * Follows Manufacturing SOPs.
    * Completes Production Floor paperwork, including SOPs as required by the Quality System. Records information such as weight, time and date packaged.
    * Starts, stops, and supervises speed of conveyors
    * Assists with validation of equipment
    * Reads and understands work orders to successfully set up material on production line, and verify and count the amounts required as per work order.
    * Inspects material, products and containers at each set up of production process.
    * Inserts or pours product into containers or fills from spout or chute.
    * Obtains and sort product.
    * Wraps protective material around product.
    * Weighs containers and adjusts quantity.
    * Closes and seals containers.
    * Labels containers, container tags, or products.
    * Sorts bundles or filled containers.
    * Packs special arrangements or selections of product.
    * Inspects material, products and container configurations each set up of packaging process.
    * Line Clearance - responsible to reconciliation and disposal of materials related to the job.
    * Clean and sanitise work areas, machines, glassware or equipment as needed.
    * Responsible for following ISO/cGMP Quality System Regulations with focus on SOP completion accuracy, product quality, and housekeeping activities.

    Education: Secondary Education, Advanced Certificate, or equivalent.

    Experience
    * Related experience in lab/manufacturing environment and/or training (may be obtained through work or school)

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
    * Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
    * Ability to understand and adapt to new schedules in environment due to priority changes
    * Ability to collaborate and work with other team members in a team-based environment
    * Ability to use manufacturing systems such as QAD and AGILE to print all required documents from QAD and Agile to complete the daily work as indicated in the production schedule.
    * Ability to read and interpret as related to documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    * Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    * Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and react appropriately to changing priorities and impending deadlines.safety glasses with no makeup / jewellery, and the like
    * Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and understand chemical hygiene
    * Infrequently lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds max unassisted
    * Stand and move about including reaching, bending, stooping, grasping
    * Use hand tools and equipment including forceful gripping, grasping, pushing and pulling
